Question for a doctor
If you believe in an emerging theory about pregnancy, you might not want to even be trying to conceive or carry while highly stressed. I do believe your mental state affects fertility, but I’m not a doctor.
Epigenetics suggests the following :
“Injurious experiences, such as malnutrition, exposure to chemical toxins or drugs, and **toxic stress** before birth or in early childhood are not “forgotten” but rather are built into the architecture of the developing brain through the epigenome. The “biological memories” associated with these epigenetic changes can affect multiple organ systems and increase the risk not only for poor physical and mental health outcomes but also for impairments in future learning capacity and behavior. “
Acupuncture!!!!! Helps with stress, and I swear it’s the key to my pregnancy at 41 years old.
Nope. Needles were deployed in different places to help with pregnancy as opposed to stress. Good luck!!
I’m going to say yes but I do not have md in my name. Please talk to a doc.
Yes def but I would talk to your OB and ask specifically what you can do to support your fertility moving forward and address any symptoms you might be having (if any)
Yes but it typically impacts your period as an indicator. So if you’ve had missed cycles due to stress or irregularity that’s an indication. But talk to a doctor
I’m not a physician but I have a few friends that experienced long term stress and their OBGYN indicated that this was causing fertility issues. Good luck OP- all the best 🤍

It can impact your ovulation cycle, but it can also cause serious complications and health concerns to your cortisol and adrenal functions.
Yes. And it can also effect your pregnancy and the stress on the baby. That can, in some cases, lead to issues after the child is born related to proper neuro pathway development. I’ve learned this with my own child over the last several years.
Yes. One of my friends who suffered stress and depression had issues with fertility
If stress can kill, it can definitely do other things also
Stress isn’t good for anything so I would say yes.
Although I got pregnant unexpectedly, during the most stressful time of my life 😆
I am not a doctor, but I would think so. Stress impacts our bodies in more way than we can imagine!
Absolutely. It notably increases cortisol production. Excess cortisol has an adverse impact on the body’s reproductive hormones, resulting in dysfunction in the ovarian cycle for women and sperm production and motility issues in men. However, I’m not aware of any studies finding (or excluding) long-term/irreversible damage from stress. And given the number of couples I know who finally got pregnant after they had basically given up (including yours truly), I’m inclined to believe that the effects are not irreversible. Thus the biggest favor you can do your fertility, and the rest of your life, is to learn to manage your stress in healthy ways. Not only will it improve your chances of natural conception, you will most definitely need these skills after the kid arrives. Trust me that when they’re grown and flown and you look back on everything, the conception challenges will probably not even be a close second to what you’ve weathered.
Prolonged stress can eff all sorts of stuff up so I’m sure it could! But I’d def consult a fertility specialist
Are you kidding your period due to stress? Then definitely. If not then maybe.
