I’ve definitely seen an emphasis on people assuming that if they have the same number of years working, and the same title, they should get exactly the same salary.
What they’re not seeing is that one person brought in a deep collection of business contacts that turned into contracts, or specialized training, or a track record of closing sales, or existing customers, or other intangibles that are what ultimately lead to that difference in pay.
Or they just negotiated better

And people wonder why we don’t unionize.
Totally. You are paid for what you uniquely bring to the table. There are ranges and starting points, but so many variables. It’s on the worker to negotiate as well as be aware of always adding value as much as it is on the company to pay the wage. Ridiculously low pay or crazy expectations usually work themselves out as nobody takes the jobs or stays in them long. That’s at least…. How it’s supposed to work.
Yeah, still same pay for the same work. People in the same position and with the same responsibilities should be paid the same, regardless of everything else. And ad land wonders why there is no union, huh
I mean “Same work”
