Cannot believe Tim Ryan left PWC. Also why would they hire an auditor to run tech transformation at a bank? No knock to him, great leader, but…

Dude… you’re a director, do you somehow still not understand how these firms work?

Once you’re a director/partner, you’re not actually doing audit work yourself anymore. You’re selling, managing clients, building eminence, coaching people.

Once you hit partner it’s another whole journey. Tim has probably spent many more years as a partner of varying responsibilities than as an auditor. Then he led one of the largest and most successful professional services firms through a fairly large tech transformation…

He’s essentially been a C-suite exec on steroids for the past 6+ years, he’s a slam dunk hire for Citi.

lol I understand that. And as a leader, he is phenomenal, but I’m just saying why would you not hire someone who has deeper tech roots? I think it is a fair point.

Hi. I’m in need of advice and encouragement. I’m currently working as a public defender(2nd year) but I would love to pursue a solo private practice. I would like to leave the public defender because I am ready to make more money and I am no longer feeling the fulfillment I once felt. I have a family and work-life balance is a priority. What is a good way to gain experience in other areas of law as a solo practitioner? What areas of law are best for maintaining a work-life balance?
