Scripts or ideas?
Depend on the stage - but I don’t need 12 fully realized scripts to know if the ideas within are or aren’t compelling.
Personally, I recommend to only show CDs stuff you believe in. Don’t send us fishing because you have a bunch of half thoughts. Bangers only. If you hand me 15 of those I’ll make the time. Also, be respectful of other if in a group review - if there are other teams, only show your best stuff.

Present only three including two great ones. If I can’t figure out which of the two I prefer your in a good spot. I can’t stand people who require endless rounds of ideas. If it’s good, it’s good.
I’ve never seen anybody present 40 good ideas. If you’re more junior, sure bring a plethora to the meeting to calibrate with your boss. Show him how you think, see what he likes. That said, once you know him and know the process. Bring just what he needs. Most senior teams that are still hands on know that it only takes one good one. By presenting just a few ideas, you’re showing confidence and experience.

I know CDs that are bringing GCD/ECDs tons of scripts. Make sure they're fleshed out though. It's your CDs job to cull the rest.
Min 3, max 6
Min 1, max 3.
at 10 concepts, 1 script synopsis each (more if you think the idea relies on repetition or a running gag)
At refining 3 concepts, 3 script synopses each (well refined at this point)
At approval phase, 1 fleshed-out script per spot/execution. If at this stage you and your CD haven’t honed the idea in so well that it only requires one script that will be reworked many times, maybe you haven’t chosen the right idea.
Being said, my partner once wrote one script for the entire process. He nailed it at the jump. It was the only thing that didn’t change, and literally not one word was touched. So it DOES happen.
