Reading the article I really have no clue how you got to the questions you ask in your post….
Could you imagine earning over Rs. 50 lakhs a year and still not even being considered in the Middle Class? How are people able to live in these cities?
I work in the City but live way outside of it. Couldn’t imagine raising kids in a place where the animals in the zoo are treated better than the mentally ill who roam the streets. Cities have a lot to offer but it’s too expensive to put up with the downsides

This sounds about right, a 1bed in Manhattan is like $5k
$200k is the new $70k - not that much anymore. Gotta make at least $400k as a single person to feel comfortable in these HCOL cities.
