CRE peers: sanity check needed.

A senior leader (3 months in) said we shouldn’t expect direction from leadership, should seek guidance laterally instead, and shared a story of being publicly humiliated earlier in his career as “developmental.” When I cited my contrary experience, I was told “this isn’t a resume conversation.” I left feeling psychologically unsafe. Is this normal leadership, or a red flag?
