CSR Question -- I see people often say not to book flights through the rewards portal because you still get the multiplier when booking on the airline's website, but that's not true right? You get 5x on flights booked *through* the portal and but you don't get 5x when booked regularly through the airlines website.

Is my understanding correct? Besides the whole thing about going through a third party, is there really any downside to booking through the rewards portal? Seems much better

Luggage delay claim question

I used Chase explorer to buy tickets for my vacation and luggages were delayed for a month. Per chase term I am entitled $100 a day for 3 days. But the claim agency chase used has been asking for airlines response, which has not came (2month+ now). I am concerned insurance will use this as an excuse to never compensate. Is there a good way to handle this situation?

Drives me bonkers when he makes purchases at stores where we have rewards but doesn’t bother to identify it. He literally leaves money on the table when not bothering to pick the credit card from his wallet that has the best rewards for the merchant. I give him the tools (card pointers app, all the rewards cards in apple wallet) but he just can’t be bothered. How to get him onboard??
