But they applied for that since June 2021. My family is not in New York and knows nothing about real estate. The tenant’s wife is a real estate professional. We tried to be understanding during the pandemic, but they hadn’t pay for 22 months now, and seem will be forever this way. Even just some amount of money would be good, to show that they want to pay, but all they have said was that the government will pay for everything. When the lease was signed, they only gave the ID of their uncle, a police officer who no longer lives there, and the husband, who doesn’t have a job (only name, no ID). We have hired a lawyer but I don’t know, there’s a lot horror stories I heard about New York. Thanks for helping!

Yes- please apply through the NY state rental assistance program asap. My mom works there and landlords are definitely getting paid out for back rent on tenants- regardless of the cost.

Thanks. We already applied, I called too asking for progress, but they said once you get your money, you will know. So I guess all I can do is wait.

Do any real estate lawyers out there know of/can direct me to a ROFO agreement to purchase commercial property?
