Currently in MBA program - top 40 school. Hoping to apply the mba intern position at google. What are my chances? Wanting to break into data analytics or PM roles. Accounting background with beginner SQl, tableau, python experience ( pls be critical)

Not trying to be a jerk but those are super competitive, top 40 likely isn’t going to cut it unless you’ve got a great referral, or have something to differentiate yourself to be noticed.

It’s doable to pivot and these rotational internship programs are the place to start, but see point 1 above.

I think what everyone is trying to say....is you don't have to be at a top school to get into Google.

Product manager roles are highly sought after right now, I can only assume intern positions are as well.
It’s impossible to give a % chance- we don’t know you or the details of the many others that will be applying.

Small to zero chance for PM as the majority come from target top MBAs with technical backgrounds or previous PM experience at other companies. Working on getting some meaningful referal would be the only bet here.

I went to a top 15 program, and didn’t even get interviews with referrals. Did consulting instead and went to G after couple of years. Plenty of opportunities down the road. Make sure you have a story/background that makes sense.

I’m in the biglaw hiring process through an outside recruiter. It’s so frustrating because he’s having these conversations with the firm and only paraphrasing the gist of them to me. He says he can’t forward the exact emails. Is that BS? Why can’t I see what the firm is telling my recruiter?

Is it the smart move to take a pay cut and clerk for a judge?

Little context: I was an ED student, full time paralegal/clerk throughout my law school experience, and a single mother. I did not take advantage of the law school extracurriculars and missed out on clerk application deadlines my final year (2020). Would it benefit me to take a pay cut as a transactional clerk by about $20k to work as a clerk for a year then re-enter firm life? I’m transactional and enjoy that line of work.

Associate at an AmLaw 100 firm doing patent work. I applied to a part time masters program to try to pivot to a different technical field (still doing patent work, but in something that interests me more than what I’m doing now). Do I try to stick it out at the firm while getting the masters, ask for a reduced hours schedule, or get a part time, non-legal job so I can focus more on the program (one year).
