Only if you have a competing offer
Didn't prove even with a legit competing offer
I was asked for a PDF of the competing offer when putting together packet. Joined in June so relatively recent experience. Based in NYC
I recently sent a copy of a competing offer letter to my recruiter after they were deciding whether to send me to HC. Then they rejected me

My guess is that one of your interviewers was super slow writing their feedback and when it came back it was less than stellar (ie no hire rating)
I sometimes take up to 7 days to write feedback for people that aren't going forward
Equity is 100% negotiable - mine went up 70% in negotiations. I got a slight move on base and asked for a somewhat large sign on which they mostly met.
I had numbers that were within reach but a bit ‘wow’ and slightly out of range for my city. I probably also had good luck because I knocked my interviews out of the park. It helps to do a ton of comp research to get ranges and then work to rationalize what is realistic.
Where are you located? At least in CA they can’t ask you for salary history.
You’re still allowed to voluntarily disclose it but it’s kind of a no-go zone so no recruiter usually asks for proof etc.

Mr too- I sent details of my competing offer too
When I was interviewing earlier this year, I had a competing offer. The recruiter asked if I could share a screen shot of the email. I did that because it was legit. If I hadn’t done it, they prolly would not have revised my offer
What role op?
Kind of specific so don't want to dox myself here
Thanks. Seems like the answer is no unless there's a competing offer.

More than any other org, GOOG has the market data for comp within single digit % so unless you have a really niche role or are at a company they don’t normally recruit from, they’ll know if you’re fudging. Your expected TC to make a move is totally up to you so you can tell them any figure you want but I wouldn’t get too creative by justifying it against current TC. Just keep the convo future focused. FWIW, I was never asked current comp, just expected. Didn’t negotiate on base but got a sign-on and increased equity by 25% which was met without pushback.
