Personally I wouldn't risk jeopardizing the interview. It's one commute for an in-person interview which I feel like is a really valuable opportunity. I find virtual interviews much more difficult, so I'd take them up on this opportunity. It may also be a litmus test for candidates.
Do whatever you have to to get to that interview. I understand not wanting to drive that far, but asking to meet virtually won't reflect well on you. They could use it as an excuse to write you off entirely and move on with someone else.
Agree with the rest of the comments - bend over backwards if you have to, but nail the interview. The rest can wait.
Please I am unemployed from Nigeria. I wouldn't mind if I could get any remote job or even visa sponsorship jobs which I can use to take care of myself and my family

Hey Program Administrator, I totally get how frustrating it feels to be asked to travel for an interview when you’ve already found a closer opportunity. 😕 Asking to switch the interview to Zoom or Teams is a reasonable request, especially if it saves you a long commute and you’re trying to make the process smoother.
You could reply to the recruiter something like:
> Hi [Recruiter’s Name], I appreciate the invitation to interview in person. I wanted to check if it would be possible to conduct the interview via Zoom/Microsoft Teams instead, as the recruiter’s office is quite far for me and I have applied to a closer State Farm location. Please let me know if this works or if there are any other options. Thank you!
That way you’re showing flexibility while also looking out for your own situation. Have you tried reaching out to the recruiter directly with a similar message, or would you like me to tweak the wording to sound even more polished? 😊
Hello please I would appreciate of I could get any job form your company I am from Nigeria
As an insurance agent and former agency owner, I highly recommend you go in person, if that's what is being asked. Not long ago, I drove 90 miles one way to find out during the interview that the reason candidates were being asked to travel outside the area was to see how seriously they were taking the interview...especially if the company is offering training and a decent salary.
Pro
Yes, it would be bad
Most likely they asked you to go there in person because their HR team is at that particular office. And in person interview does have its merit. Rejecting it could mean very poor flexibility from your side as you are just asked once to do that long commute.
Unfortunately a lot of employers are not forgiving. They will assume you're being difficult even when the obvious reason is that you don't want to pay for a babysitter or your car is in the shop or maybe you're a billionaire, its doesn't matter. They want a door mat or someone who will charm the ring off their finger and thank you for stealing it.
Many State Farm agencies are independent, and some do have multiple offices. You could try ask although something tells me they will pass on you. You really need to decide are you willing to take the commute to have a job or stay unemployed thus risking your residence, etc.

They decided to pursue other candidates after I interviewed with them last week, EVEN THOUGH i told them I was willing to obtain my license smh
