Deep in interviews with a boutique firm that specializes in what my current practice (currently @ big 4) does. If I got an offer it would be a title upgrade C -> SC, and “in theory” a base pay increase of 30%. However, I don’t necessarily want to leave. I don’t mind where I’m at/who I work with. Want to use this as leverage to get a comp increase. How would I present it to mgmt? I know they won’t give me 30% or SC, I’m simply trying to use it as leverage for a raise. Thoughts?

98 almost 99k base salary in San Diego, CA not including the bonuses or OT… is this too low or reasonable?

Do I accept a job position in an area that I’m unsure if I like because I haven’t really practiced in it as much but the pay is really good? Or do I stay in a job position that allows me to work in the area that I think I’m interested in staying in long term but the pay is much lower? For reference I am a third year.

Wolters Kluwer - 15L fixed + 10% bonus + 1L joining bonus

Which one is better and which should i join. Emerson is calling to office from 1st days and wolters kluwer have agreed for few months of work from home.

Is there a definitive guide to cost of living? The obvious cost of living centers (SF, NYC, LA etc.) get covered a lot, but I’m wondering where my city falls. It’s a modest Midwest city with ~100k residents but is a relatively touristy spot. Offering advice to job seekers who go around recruiters and message hiring teams, execs, etc. You are putting the Recruiters job in danger. If a Recruiter declines you or doesn’t choose to reach out, it is because the hiring team declined you, or you don’t have the experience. You will most likely not be considered for future roles because of this. When I see people giving advice to reach outside the Recruiter, it’s bad advice. Very rare is this a good idea.

Hi everyone! Idk if I need advice or I’m venting but I’ve been looking for jobs actively right now and want to make a switch soon. There’s a gap in terms or compensation for the jobs I’m being approached for. These jobs offer the same compensation I’m at or slightly higher (5-7%). This is demotivating and I honestly don’t know what to do. I don’t make an awful lot (105K in NYC) and I’m looking for a 20-30% bump in terms of compensation. Am I crazy here?
