Definitely behind on this just noticed people went from being tagged Management Consulting to Consulting. Still aligned to C&M but is there any purpose to this?

Yea, it essentially makes generalists until we hit the consultant level I believe. Before we had to stay within our DTEs; now you can get staffed on projects outside of it. for instance, I was aligned to FS and my TFS would not let me do anything outside of it. Now I'm starting on a CMT project - would have been much more difficult before this reorg

My total YoE is 14 years. I know pretty long stay in TCS. I am happy with the work though I am not a project lead or in some manager position. Got onsite opportunity almost 7 years in support project. But some time seeing my x-teammates who have changed many companies and now in better position, feeling like I would have moved out instead of sticking to 1 company. Now decided I have to come out from this comfort zone. I know it is possible but worried a bit with my exp. I need you guys advice..Plz

Hi Sharks 🦈,

Need some suggestions: My current company is on a layoff spree and 2 rounds are already done and I can foresee another round coming very soon.

While I am trying to switch to other companies, I’m not able to reveal the real reason from my side for the job change, as if I say, it’s because of layoff fears than it’ll reduce my negotiation power.

What other reasons can I give as I’ve just completed 9 months here and it’s too soon for any other company to take me in.

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
