I applied for a job at Visa and was contacted the same day. A few days later I had a 30-minute screening interview with the hiring manager. I knew I was very early in the process since the job had only been posted for a few days. It's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard back, even after reaching out to the recruiter. I spoke with a recruiter recently about a position in her company and before we even began talking about the job, she asked if I needed an sponsorship, I told her no, I dont need one. But she continued to press on the subject until I had to tell her I was a US citizen. I dont know why, but the whole conversation made me extremely uncomfortable. So my question is, can recruiters ask you about your visa/immigration status even when I told her I didnt need a sponsorship??

Hi! I recently switched to a new employer, who promised in writing on email that they’d start my GC process right after I complete 3 months with the firm. I’m currently on the 4th month and the process has not yet begun.
Please note that I have to give a couple of exams/certifications, one of which I failed very recently. This is keeping me from asking my employer about the GC process. Am I being irrational? Any advice or help would be highly appreciated. Thank you.
