Hey fam,
Any advice on what and how to prepare for the final loop interview for a PM position for Amazon.
I have prepared 2-3 stories for each of the LPs. I am not sure how many rounds of interviews to expect and the type of questions.
I know the BR is going to be behavioral, but the others will they be Behavioral or product based or a mix of both? If some one has gone through the experience, can you please share what it was like. TIA! 🙏
I'm looking to find a job like the Forward Deployed Engineer role Palantir Technologies in the UK.
I have become hooked on finding a job that involves solving the kinds of problems they presented during their interviews. Although I got to the final round my performance anxiety got the better of me (I think I wanted the job a bit too much...). I will reapply after working in a similar company.
Is it "deep tech" / "data science" or "smart enterprise" that they're doing? Any advice welcome.

The mental math is pretty easy - shouldn’t need one
D2, yeah that I did. More details below btw

I've literally never had a case interview where you could use a calculator
And also I do think mental math is a part of our job - looking at two numbers and casually estimating a percent or ratio isn't uncommon
Agreed units are simple, more details below.
The fact that you think the system is broken and that they were unreasonable validates the system and process, exactly how it was designed to. Like many engineers, you weren’t able to abstract away the parts that were truly important to solve a complex problem in a way that gets the answer close enough.
You are making the wrong assumption about extracting what is truly important . I still completed the work and was told I got all answers correct
You have to do mental math all the time in strategy consulting. For quick checks and to guide / reorient discussions. You can’t pull a calculator out in front of the CEO of a $20B a year business and keep a straight face.

This one’s on you OP. You should have known that you weren’t allowed to use a calculator
You should read the comments before you respond, I knew a calculator wouldn’t be allowed.
I think you missed the point of what case interviews are for
Please read comments first, wasn’t my point
Yeah I think you missed the mark with this one OP
OP, I'm thinking (like many others) that you overcomplicated the question. All of the math I got was at most just algebra, even if it involved technical disciplines. Unfortunately it also seems like you aren't willing to accept that feedback, and instead are continuing to argue the point and emphasize that you "still got all answers right."

I like to think this has just been burning in McK6 mind for weeks. Just stewing. Eventually they just couldn't bite their tongue.
