Hi guys ,
I am in a US project in Accenture. We have long calls in the night timings. My other teammate has backed out saying she won't attend any calls as she got some medical condition so she won't attend long calls which extend till 9:30.Other teammate is a junior. The managers are expecting me to join all the calls. No help I am getting. And they all being Tamil, I think some partiality is going on between them.Even our onsite lead is of no use.She expects me to attend long calls.
What should I do .pls suggest?

This happened to me … more than once. It’s not happening anymore. I’d use it as an opportunity to request a salary increase or new title if you wanted it. My job used to let me hire people closer to market rate (when I wasn’t making market rate), and then I’d have to manage them. First I was upset, but then I saw it as a good thing. I would hire people who made more than me, and then say that as their manager I needed to be bumped up in compensation appropriately.
Example of an in-person conversation:
“Hi Janet,
As you know, Carl is one of my direct reports. He does great work, and I want to continue to motivate and inspire talent on my team as a manager. However I feel that in order to do so, it is important for me to receive compensation commensurate with my current role which is a bit less than some of my direct reports. Do you think it’s possible for us to discuss this together soon?”

Are they on the same career path as you or further along in a non-management path? That would make a big difference.
