I did pgt testing. We only had 3 embryos so didn’t want to transfer if it was not likely viable. We ended up with 3 healthy embryos but the first two transfers still failed. 🤷🏻♀️ so hard to know why they failed but I would pgt test again for peace of mind.
Thanks for sharing. Praying your 3rd works out! This journey is so unbelievably hard sometimes.

I had 11 embryos, after pgta I had 6. Successful on first transfer

How old are you?
Yes, we tested. I have low ovarian reserve due to age(40) which in part means it’s more likely that any particular egg is damaged. Testing let us know whether a blastocyst was chromosomially normal and therefore much less likely to miscarry. The peace of mind was definitely worth it to me. Of the 3 blasts that made it to Day 5, only 1 was normal and that one didn’t implant after the transfer. I’m already a wreck due to the lost FET - I can’t imagine how I would feel if I’d gone through multiple miscarriages. This process is so hard emotionally, so for me anything I can do to make it easier on myself and avoid “what if”-ing is helpful.
If they’re truly abnormal, then there’s a very high likelihood you’ll miscarry. It’s nature’s way of rejecting non-viable fetuses. That said, there is a small (~3%) chance that the testing is incorrect and it reports a viable blastocyst as abnormal.
Talk to your doctor and partner and make the choice that’s right for you. Sending love and support through this difficult journey.
Tested for both IVF cycles and ended up with about half being "normal". I was already so traumatized by how long everything was taking that I didn't want to risk transferring an abnormal embryo and it failing or miscarrying.
Even so, still needed 2 FET transfers with PGTA-Normal to get to my 2 pregnancies (1 earthside, one due in a month).
*2 FET per pregnancy to clarify
Absolutely! PGT-A cost $2,500 out of pocket and worth every penny. We had 5 embyros and 2 were not healthy. I can't imagine being pregnant 5 times and having 2 losses and only 3 (possible) successes. I'm 37 and don't have time for that. PGT-A, science, my medical teams have been such a blessing.
I tested. I have had a previous miscarriage at 9 weeks which was traumatic and then led to lingering complications so I would do anything to try to reduce the risk of miscarriage. I do feel it was accurate, although not all euploid embryos become babies so it isn’t a guarantee. Of my retrievals (first at 32 and 2nd and 3rd at 35) I had:
2 euploid, 1 aneuploid
2 euploid
4 euploid, 1 mosaic, 1 aneuploid
My biggest drops are from fertilization to blast and then my euploid rate seems to be pretty high for my age.
I was absolutely shocked by my third retrieval. My dr varied my meds slightly each time and for whatever reason that time I got fewer eggs overall than the other retrievals but they were my best quality eggs. I think the quality stemmed from the fact that the follicles all grew at the closest to the same rate that time. Wishing you the best!
ER 1 (age 34)- 3 embryos tested and 1 normal (my son)
ER 2 (age 36) - 13 embryos sent and 5 normal (waiting to transfer)

10 embryos of which 4 normal
Pregnant now from the first transfer
34 eggs over 3 retrievals ➡️ 31 fertilized ➡️ 13 embryos ➡️ 9 healthy ➡️ pregnant from first transfer
