How do you handle revisions at a company?
Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?

Yes, I told them I was lateraling in-house. They asked if I’d bring the company back as a client.
My response:
My recruiter told me under no circumstances to tell them my next firm. I listened and it made everything real awkward, the partners (who I was close with) were just like “why are you afraid to tell us?” and I was like “uhhhh I don’t know.” Turns out that advice mostly applies to lateral partners lol

Yes, you don’t have to but it’s a bit weird to keep it a secret. You’ll be on the website soon enough sooo

Yeah, but you don't have to.

I mean, they find out eventually, but if I were at a toxic firm, I could see not wanting to.

One of our former associates who left at the beginning of the year didn’t tell us. She updated LinkedIn and her new firm posted it on theirs, plus updated the website when she started.
I didn’t know in January but did by March. Not sure what the advantage was for the secrecy.

A2, I don’t disagree with you. I don’t think it matters why they’re leaving, I’m going to wish them well.

I guess if you know for sure you'll never boomerang back, or ever need your prior firm as a resource, then it doesn't matter. And if you're concerned that someone will call your new firm, I can guarantee you that nobody in big law cares - you're replaceable. I've only experienced it once when an associate gave notice (4 day notice) and wouldn't disclose where he was going, citing that he wanted to keep it to himself until he got there. It was quite strange - and stranger when we learned that it was a 10 attorney firm, definitely not a competitor.
