I've been thinking of rereading Jonah Berger's book Contagious, which was a big deal a decade ago. I'm curious to see how much of it still holds up. It does seem like a lot of techniques people have relied on just won't work today. But I think telling a relatable story an audience can trust will always work.

Couldn’t agree more. I’m looking at a lot of our content, and from a consumer perspective, it’s not bringing any value or anything new. Things have slowed down considerably for the summer, but still using this time to try and get some fresh perspectives and hopefully revamp a lot in a few months.
Absolutely. That was something I learned in a website class I took forever ago. Think about your favorite sites. What do you like about them? What do you dislike about ‘bad’ sites? And so on.. Putting yourself on the other side isn’t second nature, but important when you can do it.
We're doing a mix of both, but I'm happy to report the amount of noise has been significantly cut down. I was able to push back on my boss's demands to get four campaigns out per week, and we haven't seen any drop off in performance. We're getting great engagement and are unsubscribes are down. Turns out less really can be more.
