Do agencies typically see freelance experience as a positive or negative? I graduated during the pandemic and I've been self-employed since then, but I'm now interested in full-time roles so I can maybe move out of my mom's place. Am I better off staying on the path?

Freelance cost more and it’s not part of scopes or at least your floated for a position in scope. You aren’t officially part of the agency so some places are weird about how much they present you as part of the team

I think it depends on how long you have been freelance. It sounds like you haven’t been at it too long. I don’t think it’s a negative mark on your quest for FT employment. In your cover letters or when you land an interview explain how being freelance has given you “x” to be a good FT candidate. Saying that you’d like some independence from your family will not be a good answer.

helpful

Basically you are a pain in the ass for most places but the good thing is you are hired gun so your feelings don’t matter as much.

Hi Fishes,

I am thinking to diverting my career towards freelancing in accounting.
For that I have to resign from my current job in Pwc. I am thinking of starting a job as accountant and work as a freelancer as part-time.

Any thoughts or advice?

I’ve got a friend in Dubai who has experience in IB and VC at junior levels (in London and Dubai) and would like to break into consulting. He’s at a small cap VC at the moment and works not that challenging, and he wants to break into MBB or tier 2 for strategy. Anyone happy to look at his CV?

I need some career advice. I finished my master's degree in international law (B.A.Sc international relations) but I am not sure where to go from here. I always wanted to join a big firm and I've applied to different vacancies in international firms/companies but got rejected from all of them.
Does anyone have any tips on certain job positions or companies where an LLM would prove to be useful with my background?
I'm starting to feel quite stuck in this situation and it's very demoralising.

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. It’s discouraging sometimes especially because I worked so hard with pretty much no guidance (first gen, poc, low-income) to get into college and do well and then get into a t30 law school

Hello fellow SAP Consultants!

Should I be worried about my skillset? Any insights would highly be appreciated. I feel stuck.
