No, I get better and more helpful feedback from strategists than other creatives sometimes.
I’d say take it for what it’s worth. You don’t have to change something because the strategist says so, but listen to their reason and take it into consideration.
I only do what the CD and CCO tell me to do. But feedback from strategists usually make the work stronger, so I’ll try to implement as long it helps us sell the work without compromising the interesting part of the concept.

At the end of the day we create “creative”. But it’s always a good idea to have your work reviewed by a strategist. Always your call to take or leave what they say. Sometimes to our peril!
They should be giving feedback to make it smarter, not trying to play copywriter.
If you have a real strategy department you should be pro actively asking your strategists for feedback and discussing your ideas before and after any internals.
Do not think that you are the most special person in the process. Do not only listen to your creative lead - you need the input of the person responsible for the voice of the consumer and the brand’s growth in your corner.
This. Every single word is accurate. Sure you may not always agree and you should push back if you don't, but it promotes healthy discussion and allows us to see from a different perspective. Creative is a collaborative process. We shouldn't be working siloed. We should think of strats, account folks, PM as part of our team. Good copy, good ideas, good direction can come from anyone.

A lot of their feedbacks didn’t necessarily make works better, but when they told me we can’t do something, most of the times they were right.
