After uploading documents in Bosch First Services one week ago, there was no update from them, when I replied to them via mail - They said we will get back to you.Is this sign of getting compensation breakup or they looking for other candidates.I have offer from CGI and only 3 days is remaining to accept. What should I do in this case?As CGI has said if you don't join after accepting offer we will blacklist you.

Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

I think it definitely depends. I've worked at places that prioritize one over the other and it usually depends on the manager, the company, and even the position itself.

I can see it being dependent, I also thought knowing the team already would’ve a good leg up but it isn’t always.
Some organizations have a culture that prioritizes elevating employees. In a place like that, internal applicants are always favored. Other organizations don't seem to care either way.

In my experience, internal promotions are always paid less than exterior hires so I always thought that was more preferred.
Internal is typically preferred unless that applicant has been in their current role for less than a year (then you wonder if they’re a good fit if already shifting).

I always thought it might be this.
Wells appears to prefer external over promoting internally.

Weird how it can be dependent but I guess it’s a company culture thing.
Depends on the company in my experience

That’s fair!
