They do get paid through advertising and sponsorships with brand deals, but they are also highly motivated to post due to their insatiable thirst for attention because like any other influencer, they seek validation through “likes” and supportive comments.
They are no different from the influencers you see on TikTok or Instagram, except they put themselves even higher on a pedestal due to them being an influencer of the career-based / business professional type. Most of the LinkedIn influencers I come across have their heads so far up their ass, they could probably 💩 out of their mouth.
Take my like to serve your insatiable appetite.
Some people (me!) just want to post for enough visibility to catch recruiters’ or hiring managers’ attention for better job opportunities.
Rising Star
Same.
Many of them do it because they have an existing paid service to offer- consulting services, or some online course, or a coaching/training service, etc.
Many others do it because they want to get their audience levels up to a certain point so that they can start offering paid services.
Learn to detach your emotions from these encounters. Every commercial entity has their own preferred ways of marketing their offerings. Some do it through B2C advertising, some do email campaigns, calling, retail signage, billboards, newspaper ads, whatever. LinkedIn posts as just one method.
