Do people still charge a higher weekend rate? Feels tricky with the industry being slower and budgets tighter

Weekends 1.5x always unless there’s some company policy that defines OT. Some agencies, for example, require you hit 40 hours before OT kicks in. So if you started work on a Thursday and worked Saturday, you’d be paid normal for that Saturday. It’s a cheap tactic to stiff freelancers out of money so if I can set the terms then always 1.5x for all weekend hours, regardless of how many hours worked in the week leading up to the weekend

I don’t. But possibly only because I have a full time job so prefer freelance editing jobs on weekends.

As an EP I always try and pay a higher weekend rate but budgets these days sometimes make it impossible. It’s always worth asking.

Does anyone include a bit on invoices like "Accounts not paid within terms are subject to a .75% monthly (9% annual) finance charge" or something like that?

Tangentially, has anyone had an invoice with 30-day terms kicked back for revisions because the client's terms are longer, or do they just ignore what you've stipulated?

Are post-houses ramping back to in-person? I’m freelance and so far have had a couple in-person sessions but everything else has still been remote. I’m in NYC.

How much does a post house typically charge an advertising client for editing in NYC? Whether that’s hourly, daily, etc.

What would you do in this situation? I signed a schedule A for one weeks work at Company A for $600 per day and then company B offered me 2 weeks work at $800 per day.

I’m new to freelancing, at a senior level and in NYC. Can anyone give me a range of what day rate would be appropriate to charge? Thank you!!
