Do you keep track of your accomplishments and recognitions throughout the year? I always struggle to recollect them at performance assessment time. Any good tips on how to document throughout the year?

I totally get that struggle! I’ve started keeping a simple digital journal in my notes app where I jot down key accomplishments, compliments, and milestones as they happen. I try to write something down every week. It makes performance reviews a lot easier since I don’t have to rack my brain trying to remember everything! You could set weekly reminders.

I like the weekly reminder suggestion. I recently heard of a manager who spends 30 minutes to an hour a week reviewing what was accomplished and what are next week's goals at the end of every week. This exercise helped him relax over the weekend and increase productivity since he had a clear task list/plan.

I keep a one note highlighting my achievements. Every quarterly review and yearly review I make sure these things are noted on the living document that HR holds that way as to avoid any possible future slander there is a long track record of praise in the job.

Keep a OneNote document and make a list of what you accomplished.

I can't remember last week
