I do! It gives you a chance to practice tackling interview questions with less pressure.
This was my thought initially as well
Had this happen to me with a job I had no interest in. Decided to take the interview, went through 3 rounds of interviews, ended up enjoying every interview/person and now I'm going on two years of working there. Best company I've ever worked for, happiest I've ever been working and have no intentions of leaving anytime soon. You never know what you may come across.
Wow this is a great story! And personally I think it never hurt to sharpen one’s interview skills and also learn the market every few years.
If it doesn't significantly eat into your hours it can't hurt
It never hurts to talk.
Yes. Get the practice.
How much more are you interested in it versus your current position? If it isn't a lot, don't bother
Not interested in it all. I just am searching for a new role
Depends if I have other interviews. If I have leads Id think its a waste of my time
You need to practice!
Are you looking for recruiter or assoc. perspective?
Open to all perspectives!
Just had an interview two weeks ago now that I definitely bombed because I didn’t care too much about so I wasn’t as prepared nor did I put any effort (and I have had the business month). I used it as a way to determine that the job was truly not a fit but I also could have had that time back in my schedule.
I get this. On one hand I want the practice but I still need to manage my current workload it feels like it could be a waste of time if I know I’m not interested in the role.
Depends. If you’re not interested and you know you won’t be interested, maybe take a pass. If you need to talk and learn more about it, the interview is a good opportunity.
Why not? Do it to keep sharp for when you find yourself actually looking for a job. Do it because you never know- maybe the opportunity offered is something you want but didn’t know existed.
Yes. Interviewing is a skill that needs practiced
