As a M / SM, how did you go about growing contacts outside of project work? For contacts that did not know via previous project work, how did you transition into how you (or firm) can help them?

Would love to hear thoughts on best approach of you are a senior associate at V10 firm. Do you just become counsel until they tell you that partnership is not in the cards or do you try to hop to the first partnership (equity, or at least NEP with clear progression to equity if you bring in some business) opportunity at a say V50 firm. Partner keeps telling me (2nd year) that I need to get better at using staff like paralegals to reduce client costs.....but doesn't realize that the only paralegal allocated to my group has been with the firm for 30 years and bills 1.5x higher than me.

Telco PMs, how do you call that type of project in which you manage the End-To-End deployment? I mean from planning the electric connections for a servers rack, engineering the network, the cabling and devices installation, setting up the link (and everything in between)?
