Do you think loyalty programs are actually worth it? I’ve been chasing status with one airline, but the perks are starting to feel underwhelming—especially when the prices are higher just to stay loyal. Is it smarter to just go with the cheapest flight, or do you think status matters?

My flight status is worth it (used to be highest tier, now just gold), but not for the points. The usual perks, including lounge and fast=track made my travel much more predictable, but really the prioritisation when flights are delayed/cancelled (plenty of fun during winter in Scandinavia) is what I appreciate.

I always see this as a having fun in the process. Like I would (still) do mileage / whatever points runs for the sake of it. I’d bring couple books or podcast and just forget everything can catch up on those. Hot take but therapeutic for me.
