The new company I’m at now sent me an email from an email address that was HR@companyName.careers saying I was accepted for the position. They gave me paperwork to fill out and sign to accept the position
I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?

No. We don’t have a “pencils down” culture. We have a culture where we respond to that last email at 9 pm. Already we are working more than a 9-5 workweek. There’s 0 chance we decrease the work week to even fewer days
That makes a lot of sense, thanks for your perspective!
IMO no, especially in america.
but i can see a future where we can choose whatever 40hrs / 5 days you work.
um, that is a pretty significant change to flexibility
Nope
Profits. Why reduce cultural norms for work and get 80% theoretical output of 5 days?
If somehow 4 days became the norm, one should also except 80% the pay.
The 5 companies I've worked for have shown no signs of moving toward four days. If anything, job demands expect longer hours.
I was hoping for this in the 90’s when I did work 4-10’s.
I think the new work culture is wfh flex 24/7 with core common hours like 10-2 m- Th for meetings. It pretty much is that anyway
