Hi Everyone! I have been working in Salesforce for about a year now. But I am not enjoying my work as it's mainly on backend. I have been wanting to move to Web Dev. But someone suggested that like if I like frontend I should try LWC instead as I'm already into Salesforce. So I'm quite confused which way should I go. No, I honestly don't care to know any more about them than what I need to. A lot of them give me weird vibes. I know getting to know some of the higher ups can be good for your career but I think maybe I'll have to try that somewhere else because the people here are not it. I also try not to get too involved with people at work in general but I have good rapport with most of my colleagues.
I try to get to know mine. I think it helps with communication and my ability to grow within the company. Having a work relationship that also understand the personal side of people is part of a being a good associate, in my opinion.
It’s water cooler chat. Casual conversation usually leads to a more personal rapport. That’s why working in the office is important. I was getting coffee when my bosses’ boss came in the pantry for a water. He discovered I like hockey, I discovered he has season tickets, and I’ve now been a recipient of his tickets when he can’t use them. We established a nice connection.
If it happens naturally and casually, sure. Just like anyone else. But do I kiss up? Absolutely not.
I think it's really important for the promotion process. Sometimes likeability/familiarity can be the deciding factor when leaders are making promotion decisions. Having sr leadership advocate for you can only help

I talk to them like they’re people ! :). Same as I would with anyone. Talk about what I’m streaming, ask them what they did over the weekend. Normal way you build a relationship with anyone
Personally if I don't naturally have a rapport with them I prefer to just do my job and leave the work relationships be professional. I feel when you bring and share personal feelings events or happenings, it inhibits job performance and can lead to work place disfunction. I am very much work is work personal is personal and get bothered by the violation of that boundary.
