Lots of people who live in India do. Though, they get paid a lot less.
It would be hard to argue for you to move to a LCOL country and be paid more than market there. You better be some serious rain maker.
You can’t make US rates and live abroad unless you are an executive. Not going to happen.

I work remotely in the US; however, everyone’s pay is relative to their locality. I knew someone who had moved from Boston to CT and the company decreased their pay by about $40,000.

Yes it is possible. I know a few companies like that. You also need to look at contractor roles or companies that do not care about where you work. I work for a company that uses cloud, and I move to work overseas, the company knows about it but they never decrease the pay.

If your plan is to be a digital nomad be aware that most countries consider that visa fraud.
If they even allow you to do it. You remotely working from another country the company otherwise has no business in can create a permanent establishment.
