Someone in my office just left for 100k as a senior 1. The right opportunities are out there
I am about to do that by switching B4 and service lines
I really like this view. I feel like the vast majority on here is so focused on short term. The whole reason I came to big4 was because to me it seemed like the perfect place to set the foundation for a good long term career. So many posts and comments I see just trash it and talk about how fast they want to leave. Sometimes discouraging reading it all
Not everyone wants the same thing. A lot of people want a job where they can work a stable set of hours and make enough to support their family, and they don't want to trade the hours for more money - just make enough.
Neither approach is better or worse, just different wants out of life.
Just left audit for 6 figures after 2 years within B4 Advisory. Stress - Same. Workload - overall less? Just a thought
FDD. From what I’ve heard it’s def more unpredictable hours wise but you don’t usually have like 3 months blocked out for the hell that is busy season. Short sprints of working to the morning hours to close deals but it’s only the final days per deal. So overall fewer hours throughout the year. Given this is just from talking to a bunch of seniors and managers on the job I could be TOTALLY off on this haha
Do people think 6 figures is actually a lot nowadays?
I felt pretty discouraged when I heard my friend talk about how much his actual take home pay was. He is making 120k, and I’m at 80k. We basically put aside the same amount of money to 401k (percentage wise), and the difference in disposable income after taxes and deductions were 200-300$ per paycheck.
As a single 24 year old without much responsibilities, 100k is plenty and more than I’d ever thought I would be making at my age.
I left after 2.5 years for around 100k. Getting close should be doable, will just take some searching.
I’m big4 SM and I make 200k
Take a longer view in this. Making six figures so soon is nice but if you keep chasing $ you won’t develop the relationships to grow your professional career - which is most important after 10 years from starting... for the rest of your career. Figure out what you want to do and then go get it. A few $k difference now will be a drop in the bucket later in your career
