Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Deloitte is very military friendly and pays the diff in salary while in reserve duty.

I have a friend who spent 8 months away with the reserves last year and his B4 handled it well. Only thing is that it set him back another year from promo but generally (because they legally have to) they all handle it well from what I’ve heard
Starting, no. But I have been in the reserves for 12 years. And working in consulting for 4 with 3 year’s industry experience before that.
DM me if you want to chat. That said I’m in the one branch you didn’t mention lol.
I forgot they exist, Marines
It’s federal law. Big 4 or not they have no other option then to support. I’ve deployed multiple times while employed. You are protected for up to 5 years. Deloitte actually pays you too
Ask here. Also, of course you have an opportunity to start - you have a pulse.
Check out USERRA. They're legally mandated to support you in some fashion.

I was active duty before consulting but have buddies in the NG/Reserves and they’ve said it’s nothing but a clown show. I would suggest speaking to folks who work in demanding civilian jobs and also serve in that capacity. It’s also never just ‘one weekend a month and two weeks a year’ for training. The time commitment significantly outweighs the benefits in my opinion
