During the basketball season I’m a basketball referee for middle school/freshman/JV/Varsity. Get to pick which games I work during the week and it’s an easy $100+ for an additional 3-4 hours.

Wow that’s great! Especially with it not having to be all year round, so you can get a break!
I sort of have that with the cakes, the winter months get a lot more quiet
These days it would be too much hassle to do any work on the side because of disclosure rules, but I used to do some computer jobs on the side at times. What make it workable for me was that I always knew it was a temporary gig, fixing databases or helping a small business set up a system or whatever. Because I knew it wasn't permanent I could work at night and not be too troubled by that. If it had been a more permanent thing I would have had a problem handling it.
At a high level, what was your business model? If you dont mind sharing.
I do some freelance work in addition to my full-time gig. I feel like in this economy you have to have some sort of other income. I will say, I do spend a lot of time working during the week as a result.

Totally agree, my salary just doesn’t cover it enough!
I have 3 side hustles. 1 is a full time job, 1 is a early-stage startup, and 1 is a passive income source.

Wow, that’s great! How do you manage them all with your time??

My spouse have started making soap and just recently took our first order. Not sure if it quite counts as a side hustle since we’re not necessarily making tons of money right now. But I’ve tried to keep it less stressful by keeping my expectations low and making sure our necessities stay within our salaries rather than relying on the side hustle to make ends meet.

Definitely a side hustle!! My baking business only started off with a few cakes a month and now it’s gone so much bigger! Got to start somewhere

Just one that requires a few hours a week. Sometimes it can be a lot especially if you have a family. Wishing you luck as you try to balance!

Luckily it’s just me and my boyfriend, so not too much to juggle! I definitely take on too many orders ahah. Thank you so much, and for you too!
