I’m in strategy, and I’m telling you to avoid it at all cost. I was there for a couple years. You won’t develop strategy. You’ll be forced to choose between pandering to Peterson or leaving. There’s no middle ground. He’s developed a kiss the ring culture. Their best client is their lobby, and no one in strategy is taken seriously. The “head” of planning is a quack who moved up the ranks by ..hmm.. less than acceptable means. Just search her name on agencyspy and enjoy the pictures. Seriously, look elsewhere in Chicago. And by elsewhere, i mea literally anywhere else
Just spent a week there (not in strategy tho) and I really liked it. The people seemed nice too. The only drawback for me was that the place seems like it’s trying too hard to be edgy

I worked there a few years back. Liked the people but Citibank account was very churn/burn (upper management constantly promising terrible timelines) and many people seemed fairly unhappy. But that was several years ago so could be totally different now.

They just won Carl's Jr and Hardee's. New leadership on the account, new clients, renewed work. They have reached out for this new account to me, and while the rest of the agency isn't promising, the new client and new teams do seem promising. To SC who said run like hell, could you elaborate a bit more please?
Run away. The work sucks and the leadership is worse.
I worked on carl's and hardee's as a freelancer and it was a shit show. Fun briefs but it's pretty much exactly the way account director 1 and bbdo 1 described it. Upper management promising terrible timelines, unhappy team, and just going with it because it was the only cool new client in the house. I wouldn't recommend.
Look up the recent “internal video” their leadership made wherein they called other Chicago agencies “crap”. All the above comments about leadership are true, I know first hand
