Does anyone know if our employer can monitor what we post on Fishbowl ? App is on my personal phone and I do have my work outlook/ms teams on my phone. Or would fishbowl reveal your identity to your employer for any reason ? I notice a lot of partners very active on Fishbowl and if they see something they don’t like they tend to probe on the thread but not in the most professional manner. Not in an abusive or harassment manner but not in a “political manner.

I don’t believe so, but fishbowl does have everything you post here connected to your account, which includes your full name, work email address, and LinkedIn profile. My biggest concern is a data hack at some point that makes public our identities associated with our posts.

Thank you

Be careful fishbowl is as anonymous as they lead you to believe

like

No, short answer. Although, whatever I post, I think twice in my head to see how it will look if it was revealed as a part of a data leak!

Thank you

It’s in the TOS of fishbowl. Your data is anonymized, and they don’t share or sell any of your identifying info. Aggregated data like amount of users from a certain company or post trends? Sure. But they specifically call out they don’t deanonymize posts.

If anyone caught wind that FB was selling employee names and their associated posts/comments to our employers this app would cease to exist overnight. The usage and popularity of FB is contingent on anonymity, and I’ll assume the creators of this app understand this critical part to be key to its survival. But as someone else mentioned what if there’s a data leak, if that were the case I’d be hard pressed if my company puts in the effort to fish through millions of comments complaining about WLB and salary peeing contests in the hopes of finding the most offensive ones.

Hi. People Manager here. I've been one for 12 years now and I encourage my team to not be "yes" people. At this time, it feels like my manager wants me and my team to be yes people for her. How do I deal with this? I've never been a yes person and I don't preach this to my reports. I don't know what to do. Help?

Hi fishes!

I am seeing too many post about awards like rising star, Kudos, etc. People keep telling there managers recommended them for these awards.
My manager doesn't interact much with us. I consider myself as some one who has worked hard for project and other intiatives. Should I ask my manager to consider me and if yes how should I initiate it.

What do I do come wintertime for boots? Do you wear them while you're in the office? Or do you bring dress shoes with you to change in to? I wear a suit to work, so what boots would be good for winter but also look decent with a suit? This is my first winter in Chicago (a socal transplant)

2012 Sr Associate. Left my firm in February after being recruited by a partner I used to work for, and it turns out I’m not very happy. Difficult people, terrible schedule and ruined vacations so far. A partner at my old firm in another group has asked if I would come back to work for just him. I liked working for him, we have great rapport and I could do permanent WFH since he is in another city. I don’t want to burn bridges, would this be a bad idea? Or an easy decision?
