I always give notice after I've returned the signed offer and they accept.
I’m also in this same situation.. I always thought about waiting until background check, drug screen and all other checks clear out before I tender my resignation
When would your start date be? Is there any way the offer could be rescinded/contingent?
Best to wait until you as much as possible, but try to make your start date as delayed as possible if you value your current place, or you think they will have a tough time finding someone else like you.
And congratulations!
And if it’s Coinbase, don’t give notice until you actually start given all of the rescinded offers they’ve had
Coinbase...
Funny/Not funny!

A friend of mine had an offer rescinded because he had an LLC that he had set up for his rental properties. The employer said he failed to disclose other employment. He’d already given his notice. Ridiculous things like that happen.
Crazy! This is good information.
Only give notice when everything is signed and official.
I'd give notice AFTER your background check is cleared.
I usually wait until background check, drug test, etc is completed just to be extra careful.
Personally, I wait until after the background check clears to give notice so I haven't burned the candle on both ends. I don't have a record but mistakes are made sometimes.
I’d wait until background check is done as well. Is there an ETA on your new start date? If not, I’d put in your 2 weeks after BG check then take 2 weeks off before starting again. It’ll be a nice little break!

Always wait until after your full background check has cleared.
Hell no! Sign first and make sure you good to go before you give your notice!
Always wait until you've signed an offer letter. I've several instances where an optimistic recruiter has told me I'll get an offer letter in a few days and then had it actually take weeks due to hold ups in management
As best practice, I've always made it clear to recruiters at my new company that my start date will be contingent upon my two weeks notice being given AFTER background check is cleared and confirmed. No skeletons in my closet but weird things can happen!
Wait till Tuesday. In these unexpected times, it's better to be sure
A lot of people have said. After signed. That’s because it is correct.
I got my AWS offer yesterday! They said wait until the background check clears then resign. It took all of 2 hours for them to run it and come back with the OK.
I’d just let them know in writing on Monday the discuss in your next call if they don’t call you sooner.
Don't give notice until you have signed the offer letter
wait for your official joining date.
I mean sign and then wait for the Joining Date from new Employer, also make sure all activities are done like Background checks, visa processing etc.
Yep do not give notice until the office is signed and you've passed through any other hoops (e.g. background investigation, acknowledgement of offer received/accepted). Even then, the new employer technically can rescind your offer most of the time (at will employment), however unlikely that is. But definitely don't give notice before those milestones I listed.
If both jobs are remote, see if you can do both for awhile and double your income. When it becomes too much, turn in your notice.
