It does, I think that it is a little bit different depending on the country, but in America it sure does. Since most of consultants in the Paris office came from a Grande École and have a master equivalent (BAC+5) I dont know how much they'd value a MBA... I've heard that usually in the Paris office they dont do a lot of MBAs, even though I agree that this french egocentric non sense thought that a prépa and BAC+5 has similar credentials to an Ivy league MBA is complete bs.
Hi,
I just discovered this bowl and post.
I’m French.
I found funny the MBA concept too 😂
Why? Because it’s a post work experience bac +5 equivalent to a Ms in Management or to a Master in Management (both namings or wordings are synonyms, as for MBA).
At that rate, a PhD after a bac+5 would be more interesting.

Master degree in Management (MiM) in France:
See link above, section Master of Science in Management. MIM or MsM =MBA without work experience, bac+5 in any case.
Prepa stands for introductory because it’s “classe préparatoire aux grandes écoles” 😂
It means “top schools’ introductory/preparation course”, pretty long for a 2-year prep with only a ranking a no diploma in the end.
Still it’s recognized as a bac+2 level.
Classe prepa in France:

At that rate, a BTS (british HND equivalent, delivered in STEM high schools) or DUT (BTS equivalent, bachelor in tech, university delivered) delivers you a bac+2 diploma at least.
Fun anecdote #1:
At the time I still was a master’s degree sophomore I even had a prepa friend (I never did a prepa) would openly addmited that a doing a HND (bac +2) would have been better and safer because if she failed the business school, she would have had a least a diploma.
