What are exit opportunities from big 4 ITDD??
Hi All,
Looking to make the move from working in industry to big4 and was curious as to what level and pay I might be worth?
I have 10 years experience out of uni, as well as completed CPA and MBA. I have a experience in managing entire finance function of small/medium entities, but most notably solid corporate finance experience/strategy leading refinance exercises, debt raising, hedging/treasury strategy etc…Would be looking for something in deal advisory / M&A / CFO advisory etc….thanks Deloitte EY PwC @

Think about it this way.
If you’re down for the partner goal, which path has the highest probability of allowing you the opportunities to get there?
If you’re miserable in B4, chances are you won’t make it. If a “T2” would make you happier with the day to day work, then perhaps there’s an argument for it.
Consultant 1 is a good example of an anecdote and uninformed piece of advice. Banking could pay a lot more or it might not. MBB could pay a lot more or you could get counseled out back to square 1. MBA could be good but brings with it debt and more competitiveness in the path (potentially more return).
Focus on doing what you enjoy and building the network of support.

Friend did B4 -> MBA -> Banking at around that age. He's making more money than he ever would in any sort of consulting. I'm sure you could do that and go to MBB too.
Personally don’t think B4 to T2 (assuming you mean the ~LEK/Kearney/OW group) is a level down. If it’s fine financially and with the work you want (and culturally, bc smaller firms tend to have “stronger” cultures), I think it makes total sense.
He means he'll be starting at T2 one level down from his current role at B4. T2>B4
Yes I think it makes sense based on your post. T2 has been extremely different than B4 in my experience. The strategy work is definitely at a different level and the pay is a big step up with how the bonuses are structured.
