Base is tied to your cohort. In other words every MBA hire gets the same and every new Manager gets the same. The only potential negotiation is the level you come in at.
Differentiation is through bonus (stronger performance = more bonus) and how quickly you move up between levels. There’s more variation in how quickly individuals progress at Kearney compared to BCG or McKinsey.
I think ~$250k cash is a reasonable expectation for a Manager in the US. The recruiter can give you the details and breakdown of base vs bonus. This does not include the 10% profit sharing or 1.5% 401k match in your retirement account.
