Does MBB look at the GMAT same as GRE during recruiting?

Honestly, D1. "I got a 3.98 gpa on a 4.0 scale. would that go against me?"

like

730 checks the box. Go network.

like

If you have below a 700, you're heading into the danger zone. You'll have to compensate with either stellar background or networking. No, 750 does not guarantee you an interview. Yes, there are many folks who have gotten into MBB with sub-700 GMAT.

like

Yes

GMAT is easier to deal with, otherwise we have to convert it to a GMAT equivalent to understand it

Is there a target score or cutoff that you usually look for? Is a "competitive" score for MBB similar to competitive scores for b schools, or skewed higher?

I've heard a 750+ guarantees you at least and interview. Beyond that not sure.

Bain 2, I was specifically referring to BCG. Rather unofficial though.

Yah - that's not right given my conversations with friends who do recruiting at BCG. Though a higher GMAT can help tag someone as high potential candidate.

I got a 730. Would that go against me when applying?

Definitely wouldn't go against you.

Well I thought it was good until I keep running into people with 750+

recently asked a question about going to law school with an accounting degree. follow up on that- if i work 1-2 years at my current firm (offered 72,500 full time after graduating undergrad) and acquire my cpa (courses and exam fees paid for by the firm), then apply to law school, would that be more beneficial? ive been reading a lot that work experience helps with the application, alongside having a high gpa and LSAT score

Genuinely curious question: why do so many international students want to get MBAs in the US... it’s hard for them to get work here, with Trump it’s hard to even get and stay here, so what’s the appeal? There are plenty of other good universities internationally so why the expensive ones in the US?

Got my MBB offer as an Exp Hire! A few insights from my case prep. I practiced ~10 cases solo using Case Coach videos. I'd watch the interviewer speak, pause the video, practice (speak out loud, ask questions, explain my approach, even time myself), then play to see what the candidate did, and evaluate myself for gaps.

I also learned the evaluation criteria and internalized the generic case frameworks.

I do work in consulting and had done live case interviews 5 years ago
