That's tough, we should all chip in with part of our paychecks to ensure the health and wellbeing of our employers

This is why I always tip my leadership generously after every case, it ain't easy for them

likefunny

They’re paying for it directly or indirectly since they own the place …

like

D1 ah i see

Yes. They are not employees so don't get that employee benefit

like

They pay for your health insurance too, that’s how it is owning a business 🤷🏼‍♂️

like

They’re not employees so who would pay for it

like

Simple answer would have been ok

They can afford a good plan with their high salaries lol

like

I instituted a standard 5% gratuity on the paychecks for my team to help them show their appreciation for my services and pay for my benefits

like

As you should

Who else is there to pay for it?

Despite popular political belief, companies are owned by people (mostly retirees and people saving for retirement) and partnerships directly so, so everything a company pays for come straight out of some retiree’s (or partner’s) pocket.

Yep they pay their own

They pay for everything.

My firm typically does insurance defense, but we take plaintiffs cases here and there. Is it typical that work done by associates on contingency cases isn’t counted toward their billable hour requirements unless and until we receive our fee on the case? This is my first experience with this, but it’s hard for me to reach my hours as is, without spending time on non billable cases like this with no assurance that I’ll see billable credit at the end.

There’s no reason you have to put up with a job you hate. I spent many years working in a toxic environment with a boss who gossiped and lead through fear. He wasn’t really much of a leader but basically a foreman. And he could make my existence miserable. I admit that it wasn’t easy to find another job but the bottom line is: trust your guts. If you feel something is wrong it’s because it probably is. Don’t second guess yourself. Look for options and and fight for your mental health.

PTO & sick time PLUS self care days. Flexibility. Hello! Does bain provide initial accomodation, flight reimbursement and brokerage amount?

Definitely took the wrong job. I was offered a seriously competitive salary and great benefits to work at a well funded startup, which is great! Every single suggestion I've made has been shut down and I've been ghosted for several meetings with the CEO. What should I do? Just leave?
