During the interview, my reporting manager told me that I need to relocate to the city where the Job is, now that I've accepted the offer, can I ask to be remote and if it cannot be granted, can I back up from the offer?

Appeared for KPMG interview 45 days back. HR is intentionally delaying offer release. Done with 2nd round of interview in last week of July. My Lwd is in oct first week. She took documents on 23rd Aug and did salary discussion a week later. And giving shitty excuses like waiting for approval. Approver is on leave bla bla. I currently work at a large research institution and am in the process of getting retroactively reclassified to a new title (Long story but my PI is cheap and routinely pays ppl the bare minimum so now the Union is helping me w/ a retro reclass.)
