Job-Hunting reach-out to VC from previous fundraising effort for own startup
I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?

100%, if you find that not even the interviewer is trying to sell you the job... run.
One time. That job lasted about 6 weeks before I said screw it. Even that was probably 3 weeks too long.
I’m in that very job now. In the beginning I was updating and upgrading literally all their documentation for all categories (safety, quality, new hires, etc). The place was one of the worst cases of disorganized chaos I’ve witnessed. Nothing was being documented or reported. Because of that all the metrics were past due by at least a month. Now I have the place at 100% completion in all categories.The amount of time I’ve put into getting up to 5S and Gemba standards along with all documentation being organized and having the proper home is astonishing. I did all this because I wanted to make an impact, a real positive influence on the team. The easiest way to explain it, there’s not much I don’t do. I received a crazy amount positive feedback, several times being called “the best coordinator in the network.” I humbly accepted these praises. I reached my 1 year and received an $.88 raise. My mood didn’t change, I’ve never express my concern for such a low raise. Now the communication has dwindled. I hear things of importance from associates that I should hear from management/leadership. I opened my eyes about 6 months in and realized all they wanted was to appear successful. I hear meetings all the time. I hear leadership say they are completing tasks and conducting KPIs to corporate standards but that is so far from the truth it’s sickening. In all the meetings leadership get all these praises and they feed off of it. Therefore they sweep things under the rug, lack in accountability, and blatantly ignore safety/quality concerns. My time is, by my own decision, is coming to an end very soon. I and the other employees deserve better than this. This saddest part is all this behavior will shine through eventually. I’ll have no part in it!
I feel you. I had this situation 2 times and the VPs finally realized the shell game and fired the plant managers. Unfortunately they kept the yes men and the new manager realized they had no intention in making things better. Now we look bad and no one cares.
You are interviewing them as they interview you. One of your purposes of interviewing is to see if you really want the job. I interviewed for a job as a Career Guidance Counselor with a high school. I soon learned that the only metrics that counted was if the child went on to college. And went into deep Financial Permanent Debt to do so. My job was to convince the parents, and the student to do so. The student should be able to go to trade school, or even get an entry level job after high school. But one needed to know how to job hunt, and be able to read, write, and complete basic math to do so, and they were graduating students who couldn't do that. The students had to go on to college in order to pick up those basic skills. The current students didn't realize that the days of free education were over, and neglected to "make hay while the sun shines." With the school district, it was all show, and no substance. Only metrics counted, not the individual student. I learned that quickly during one interview.
That's been my job, every job.
