Hi Everyone, I am trying to apply for a Technical Support role at Dropbox I’m entering all the required fields but there seems to be an issue, when I hit submit after filling the form, it doesn’t submit and throws error ‘Looks like you left this blank! Please fill out this required field’ when all the fields are entered already (I have checked so many times, and filled the form from scratch several times too). Anyone from Dropbox who can put me in touch with HR or suggest what I should do next?
I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

Absolutely apply. I’ve been hired for roles where I only had 60% of the “preferred” stuff. Half the time those lists are just wishful thinking from the hiring manager.
Agreed. Meeting even 50% of the preferred skills would still probably put you ahead of most candidates
It's like dating. They are shooting for 6', 6-figures, and abs, knowing that the odds are against it.

The song played in my head... I am looking for a man in finance. Trust fund. 6 5.. blue eyes 👀
Apply to everything you match 50%+. Even below that if it's a job you really want and find it worth the time to try for. There is no benefit to waiting around for the perfect match job.
Haha I heard the same. We all need to channel the confidence that white men seem to have in spades 😂
I read something on here about this a while back that really stuck with me. It was something to the effect of "Don't disqualify yourself, that's what a hiring manager is paid to do". I apply for every role I feel I'm qualified for, even if I don't meet every single requirement. They're wish lists more than anything.
It really is, both are super disheartening. I'll take the plain rejection over ghosting. I'd much rather know I didn't get the job than get my hopes up.
Not to be stereotypical but "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." If you feel like you can do the role, just apply even if you don't miss the laundry list of skills. There is always room to grow in the role as long as you're willing to learn and put in the work.

Definitely agree!
It’s nearly impossible to find that unicorn fit. I think it’s more important to be eager and willing to learn in the areas where you fall short. Hard work and time will take care of the rest

Yes! Just apply - if its meant to be yours, it will be.
Hello hope you're doing great, I would love to work with you
Companies have increased preferred skills and experience to the point you almost have to have experience at that company to be 100% qualified.
You should definitely apply if you have most of the skills and experience. However, even matching 100% isn't enough because several companies are posting fake jobs.

I would definitely apply anyway! If you don't give it a go you'll never get it.
