Are you sure they are the same level (by year) and service line? They should be the same bill rate, different cost rates.
There's a standard rate card by level for every service line. Every time I've checked WIPs or done a fee update the standard rate listed on the WIP/gt e detail was that standard rate. I've never seen standard rates be different for same service line same level people on the team.
I don't work at EY but that would almost certainly be due to differences in salary
The "standard bill rate" is what it's called in the GT&E detail. Effectively, I think it's more of a cost rate. It's not what we actually bill anyone, but some SOWs are based on a % of standard. I'm curious how they're computed by the system.
Yeah. I understand that’s not we actually bill. I’m guessing you have people that are in different years with the same title. For example, a first year senior’s bill rate is less than a third year senior’s bill rate.
EY2, the standard rates in GT&E vary significantly in tax. A rate card is totally different and depends on client. You could have two national EDs both based in DC and the standard rates will not be the same.
Not sure how tax handles it, but TAS publishes (internally) standard rates by sub service line and employee rank and experience level in the spring for the fiscal year ahead. The only variability in TAS standard rates at a comparable employee rank and experience level will be based on sub service line.
There aren't standard rates in GT&E. what are you talking about, OP? You mean MMT?
No, SM1. Have you ever pulled a WIP out of My Engagements? It's one of the categories you can check to download/columns in the Excel file
SM’s point is that doesn’t come of our GT&E. My engagements is not GT&E
Yes, what EY1 said. My engagements is a different tool than GTE. Anyways, as others have said, standard rates have nothing to do with utilization or salary. They are driven by rank, location, service line, sub service line. They are set in general once a year on July 1. There are surcharges to the standard rates during busy season (at least for tax).
I guess my post was confusing, but you pull GT&E detail out of my engagements. That's the name of the download button. Anyway, that answers my question, SM1, so thank you.
