Hi Fishes,
I am at a career standpoint where i am really confused what to do.
I have 4+ yoe in RPA .I really dont think its sustainable as a career .I am willing to learn and move into something different.
But what i am really confused is how would i manage to switch jobs without any prior experience?
I already earn 13-15 lpa,why would anyone offer me same level of package without experience?
People who do a successful career switch, please share your stories. In need of some motivation

I used to research and prep to an insane degree before every presentation.
Now I sometimes forget what I’m saying while I’m saying it and yet the money keeps coming.
Genuine recommendation: look up eminence in the field you’re in. You may not be challenged by the work you’re doing to grow intellectually, but how can you continually learn and study what is happening in the market regardless? Find reputable sources, follow them and you may feel a bit more inspired to bring those findings into your job and elevate what you’re producing. Whether it be industry specific, a domain area, future of “insert topic”… And if not, it was worth a try
Great advice

100%. I graduated with a physics degree and used to love reading scientific literature and thinking through new technologies.
Now everyday is a grind and there’s never enough time to think things through in detail. Basically have become an Excel/Ppt monkey that makes wild assumptions and copies templates to get the job done quickly. At the end of the day, none of what we do matters. It’s all mostly fake numbers that are used to justify decisions people wanted to make anyways.
Time for you to learn sql and get into analytics

No doubt, consulting makes you dumb and dumber-er.
they promote the dumber ones to avoid conflicts. You are in the right track.
accelerated promotion if you have toxic traits and knows how to be disrespectful, passive aggressive

This is not consulting, it’s corporate life. If you want to be thinking, go into science or heavy tech or the arts. Once big money is involved, the goal is copy / optimize / minimize risk / maximize gains.
You’ll probably make a lot less, but you’ll have a richer mental life.
Alarming how many people agree with this. I do as well and am longing for something different. Just started a new role and it is the same as you described. I am a zombie walking M-F
D2 is right. Find something that stimulates your curiosity that you can apply to your job. I was interested data science and I began learning about it by watching YouTube videos and reading white papers published by the likes of Google, Amazon, or Deloitte.
