Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express
What questions do you ask at the interview?
Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.
TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)
TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)
Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon

Hi Fishes, Sometime back I was interviewed for Technical Support Job role in my domain. T1 went well. T2, in my understanding was better only (not great like T1 but not blunder. I felt it was nice and i replied majority of questions). They released the feedback after 10 days with "Not Positive". I am not totally sure with feedback as I replied majority of questions correct. I am being bit curious with "Microsoft" tag. What can be the reason?
Discussion appreciated.

Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.

I’m full blown stupid, I’m against standardized tests for a lot of reasons.
Don’t read in to it much, you’ve made it this far and you’ll make it even further.

Me giving out advice as full blown stupid
I don’t do well in exams, struggle to learn in a classroom environment but I’ve been reasonably successful in life.

I test poorly on IQ tests and other similar things with a lot of small, quick-thinking questions, but I’m good enough at solving « larger » ambiguous problems to get an engineering degree and a consulting job, so I guess if I’m dumb I’m the right kind of dumb. I suspect MENSA is full of under-employed weirdos with a chip on their shoulders while we dumdums get on with our lives.
That’s not far off. There are stories of folks with massive IQs who end up as bouncers at clubs or call centers because they can work in high performing careers or even around “normal” people.

Sounds like us
Honestly whenever I see a IQ/logic test as part of the interview process I usually decline to move forward.
Yea I’m stupid too, no caveats….
Some of us are dumb in some things and better in others. There is always the oddball who is both dumb in all things or good in all things but hey that's life.
I wouldn’t worry to much about it. We all get what are essentially proxy iq tests for college and grad school. SAT/GMAT are essentially IQ tests or at least attempt to function as aproximators for future performance.
Even school “prestige” is based on IQ. The ivies require 97th percentile + standardized test scores and that nicely tracks to roughly 130+ iq - and I’d suggest that there’s a very high correlation between SAT percentile and IQ percentile.
At the end of the day to do most of these consulting jobs you need to be significantly above average intelligence. The average person doesn’t have the executive function or computational skills to manage a lot of what you guys do for extended periods of time.
Mensa is a club full of weirdos though and I think it’s kind of weird to actually sit and take an IQ test.
A1 the difference is an IQ test during an interview process allows for a max 1-2 weeks of prep. Whereas for the GMAT and SAT and other standardized tests you can prep for a year and ace it
