First year associate here. I drafted and argued motions to dismiss and for partial summary judgment in my case and got it dismissed entirely. Now the carrier is saying I cannot work on their files because I don’t have two years of experience. Lmao, make it make sense!!!

That happened to me early in my career and it sucks! Congratulations on your victory though, that’s super impressive for a first year associate. Wanna come work for me instead? 😁 (jk, unless you’re in NYC in which case I’m totally serious)

Congrats! That's huge. The client is going to miss out. It's their cognitive bias and their loss. Don't sweat it.

Thank you!! 💗

I’d had a similar situation where you had to be “approved” (idk what the qualifications were) to work with a certain carrier and I wasn’t. But then when we were low staffed a partner put me on those cases anyway and just made it work. If a partner really wants you on it, the carrier will find a way to get over it.

I suspect they’ll stop assigning this carrier’s cases to my partner (I only work for one), but we shall see! My partner is letting me draft the opposition to p’s motion for reconsideration, thankfully. I want to see this case through.

Congratulations! Your partner may have to go to bat and argue with them for approval. They may make the exception. I have 6 years experience and was initially told I couldn’t work on a certain carrier’s cases because I only had 3 in ID🙄 silly rules.

I’d want to make sure the clients stay through the transition, and I don’t want to join a dying industry. Thoughts and advice?
