Oh I’m in it too, I should say. But I know what it takes to get a prototype to something usable in Claude code or Figma Make or v0… I’m just worried that PMs are going to single prompt AI slop and then my job becomes prototype fixer.
You know that’s exactly what’s gonna happen though 🫠
The industry is in a period of consolidation; find a way to partner with your PM
Personally I'm pretty much doing the same thing they're doing. IMO designers today should just bite the bullet and learn how to vibe-code basic prototypes with Claude Code and Cursor. There's still a place for Figma mockups but in our department these are increasingly primarily used to guide the AI towards outputting a more fully functioning code prototype.
You need to learn. In the near future, everyone and every industries will change the way we work completely.
I’m now working full circle. I do resourcing via Trello and Copirot. Lead workshop for requirements, writing business requirement, writing DevOp tickets via Claude cowork and DevOp. Create design concept and building live prototype the day of via Claude code, GitHub and Figma.
It sounds like a lot of work, if since Ai does 80% of each task, my workload is actually less.
